fished off north arm 3-6. Nothing, I didn't see a net out either of the 20+ boats there. Nice day though. Sunny no wind. Saw a lot of dolphins today that I didn't see last week.

Ended up with a nice 18lb marble spring. Slow day out there at the sand heads with a few fish caught here and there. Beauty of a day out there though!

Up bright and early to give the sandheads a go. Maybe boot across the straight for some bottom fishing if the winds hold off. Give a shout out if your having any luck, I'll do the same.

Good to know. So how much for a large cooler full?

Two fisheries boats so make sure you're in compliance.
We saw one of their boats yesterday too, it was due to so many boats fishing in the channel and impeding the traffic on the river.
We heard about 4 vessels sounding their horns - giving the 5 warning blasts meaning immediate danger.
Back at the ramp another fishing boat said they heard on Ch.11 that the captains of these vessels were requesting the Port Authority to have DFO respond and get the sport fishing boats out of channel.
DFO boat was pulling up to each boat fishing in the channel.
If too many guys impede the river traffic, it gives the authorities a reason to close the area for fishing.

Fully agree.

Guys need to keep in mind the mindset that the "powers that be" have. That mindset is of making money and nothing should get in the way of that. That includes bad press from a collision with a fisherman.
I know it can be distracting in the fleet of boats that tends to take residence where we fish, but give these guys the room they need. That means always have a look around to see if a commercial vessel is coming and get the **** out of the way before it becomes a problem.
You know they are looking for ANY reason to keep you out of these fisheries. So don't give them any reason to. Screw the tack your on, move out of the way, who knows maybe you will find another that gives you a prize.
Just don't F@&k up the spot for other guys that do the right thing like what's been done at the cap.

Well said!
Totally agree.
On the fishing report side we finished the day with a marbled spring, had a few other hits that didn't stick.
There were a lot of seals in the morning, they seemed to have moved on later in the day. Probably trying to digest their full belly of salmon.

Nice! He's a good guy deserves one.

Yes Dogbreath is. He got a nice wild as well. I only got wee ones. Not my day. Pretty quite overall. A few nets out here and there.

Dont know why everyone figures the fish have to be right in the shipping channel off the South Arm. The freighters were on the horn more than once because of the no minds again today. The two decent fish we got were well away from the pack of boats. The entire time we worked in the pack of boats we caught nothing. Outside the flotilla we got a few decent fish.
