Whats the marine forecast showing for Saturday fellas? Planning to launch at Mcdonald beach fish the T10 marker to the sand heads. First time out this season.
Is a 10 to 20 North West wind a no go? How accurate are these forecasts? Thanx for the info.

Springs...all were springs today...strange didn't get anything else. I heard pinks r still on way. Uncle was catching them from shore in Paul river this week apparently.
Pinks have already come and gone for the most part. A few days ago Pacific Salmon Commission released "the Panel approved, for management purposes, a provisional Pink salmon run-size estimate of 6,000,000 fish with a 50% marine timing through Area 20 of August 21." which translates to "Our preseason forecast of 14.4 million Fraser pinks was WAY off and as of Aug 21, half of all returning pinks have made it very close to the Fraser (area 20, Sooke). Those pinks have now made it into the Fraser will just the tail end of them still in approach waters. With 6 million pink being the minimum quota needed for conservation purposes it looks like there will be no commercial fishery at all for Fraser pinks. A few disappointing pink and sockeye year for sure. Ocean conditions must not have been favourable at all for these guys.
On the flip side, chinook fishing has been pretty amazing this summer off the Fraser! I was out all day yesterday and we hooked into at least a dozen springs... lost a couple, released a couple and went home with our limits. Nothing of size... all 8-15lbs. Ran bait all day. Weather/wind was pretty nice compared to other days this week. Another great day just out of Van City.

hi tincan thanks for the report, I don't like to bother people but I red you hook lots of fish and lost 2 only, because my score is less than 50 percent, last time 4 spring and 1 only on the boat, I tried lots of combination and spent lots of money on hook, I would like if you can give me some advice to improve my scores, thanks again antonio
hi , my problem is once the fish is on it spat the trebles hook , mostly close to the boat when it start to spin , if you think is better the single I will try, do not hurt, maybe I will find the solution, thanks everyoneHey Antonio....may be a good thread to start up aside from the reports forum to get some advice. Lots of us willing to help out.
Quick question for you......do you find that you're not hooking up as many fish as you would hope (we all don't....hahaha) or is it that once you are hooked up your hook up to landing ratio is low?
