Some of you guys need to chill a bit. Some mentioned it in earlier post as a "perk" and I couldn't agree more. You ask these guys to come to these remote $hitty towns to police year round and for what? Its not for the lovely ladies in them thats forsure. If taking the company boat out the odd time on their own time is a perk then so be it, it probobly beats the alternative.
Profisher makes a good point, it does take time to build these cases (although I doubt thats what they are doing in this picture) The reality of policing in this day and age is that many laws such as the new charter laws or other minor by-laws can only be enforced by the presiding agency. Be it Transport Canada, DFO, or a local by-law enforcement. The police are too busy and aren't properly educated to enforce these laws. Imagine if a guy wasted a full day investigating one of these charter operators and came back to the office at the end of the day with a ticket in his hand to show his boss that he had written the charter operator. I would imagine the boss would be less than happy that the guy spent his time this way with all of the other criminal isses happening within the community. Think of it like a private sector, this is a complete lack of productivity.
Just my 2 cents
