Double Eagle 185 Build

Case study in why it’s a good idea to run E0 fuel, a racor, and to run your fuel system dry before storage. Glad you caught that before it got worse!

… new tanks installed and wrapped up some interior lighting. Hull is primed and ready for a final sand prior to paint. Rigging close to wrapped up. Quick rip to the cabin to dust things off 👍. Thanks again @Brando !

Haven’t updated in awhile… but things are moving along.

Just finished up painting- 4 coats alexseal. Can’t say enough good things about this product. Amazing results with a roller…and an inexperienced dumbass applying.

Nice seeing it go back together. Cheers

Wow that’s an impressive finish!

Straight forward prep.... prime then sand to 400. Amazing product.
I assume there must have been some sanding of the gelcoat prior to the primer going down too? Curious what made you go this route over restoring the gelcoat. I agree the results seem to speak for themselves.

yes…. Miles of sanding, filling, faring, priming, painting. Easy process… just time consuming. Gelcoat was pretty beat up and required much repair - was an easy decision to paint after researching options. Wanted to update the original blue…. Great results and repairable.
