Double Eagle 185 Build

Been busy. Got the Amazon knock- off EVA down… a custom bait station built/installed… and the bulk of the lighting completed. Close!

Hey Oscar162 , great build, excellent work! Contrary to popular belief size shrivels after this much work @Stizzla ... haha, way to go.

,

Had the eagle out for a shakedown on Alouette this a.m. Some tweaking as expected… but pretty happy. She sits a little butt-low… I’ll adjust some weight forward, the tabs will sort the rest. Dropped templates off for new windshield glass yesterday…. Rub rail ordered. They’ll always be something… but she’s good to go 👍

Can you delete the auxiliary fuel tank and plumb the kicker into the main tank or fuel filter? That’s 50 pounds or so that you got on the other side of the transom plus you’ve got all of your gear back there, downriggers, etc.

I have an 18 footer and it’s quite wide with great reverse chines, but I still have to manage where I load things and mount accessories.

That was the original plan…. Kicker fuel pump was having trouble drawing from the main tanks…. And a little more fuel onboard is appealing. I still have some weight to add up front that should help a bit… literally no weight ahead of the fuel tanks at this point. Still tweaking.

Probably sits fine. Don’t have to move much weight. It doesn’t look like anyone’s in the boat in those photos so you’ll usually have another 400 pounds ish of weight up further when your getting going

Nice job!!

Looks to me like your main engine is mounted really low. The pic of your wake shows that you motor is deep in the water and something is throwing spray off the starboard side (is that where your transducer is mounted?)

I started w/ the cavitation plate even w/ the bottom- I’m told this is a good place to start. I think your rite tho…. I’ll add weight up front, play with prop pitch and likely outboard height. Thx

Yes, there's so many variables to change and adjust along with personal preference of how the boat feels when operating.
