Easy limits this morning! Prety much mayhem out there. I can't quite understand how people can't just formulate somewhat of an organized tac? Some of the painters guides are the worst offenders. Soo greedy to get the honey hole over and over again they can't go to the outside and and let others get into the spot. I don't have a problem with short tacking, the fish are everywhere. But to make your turn and then come straight at the guy behind you expecting them to move out!!! Better be quick on your riggers as I won't be moving for you and you'll be going into the kelp! Sorry for the rant, but I guess I expect better from the guides than the averedge Joe's.

As mentioned earlier in the thread (I think we did anyways) for area 13 the total limit of salmon per license is 4 of which, 4 can be sockeye, chum or pinks or up to 2 chinook, or up to 2 hatchery coho.
Mix and match however you will total salmon per license is 4.
Fishing is pretty decent at the moment but make sure to bring an extra pair of hands on board to help steer the boat in the chaos while you play your fishes, also it might be a good idea to put the bumpers back in the water when you get to your fishing hole, cause it's combat fishing out there right now.

was out last night, just outside of Browns bay. We got into a few in the short time we were there, not too many boats.

Well, another great day. 2 short of a 16 fish limit. Lost probabaly as many as we boated...one of those days!!! Hooks just didn't want to hold. Had a quadruple header first thing, 3 made it in the box!!! Then the landing ratio went for a crap. Ground it out for several hours after the bite was over looking for the last 2 then finally gave up. Get out there before it's over!

First light. Bite was good until the flood really got going, then it was over. Didn't stay for the evening tide change but I'd bet it was good. We were marking lots of fish moving through well into the flood but they weren't biting very good.quote:Originally posted by Island Fish Lifter

WOW what a day out there,didn't launch till just after noon at the Native dock in Campbell River, flat calm, headed north, fished in/around the seiners today(after I found them),it was crazy, sockeye for as far as you could see, hammered them at 60-70 ft, limit for us in 1hr...only lost 3 today? better than my average when fishing sockeye...some of those fish must be pushing an honest 10lbs,and fought like coho,with a few nice runs and getting air time
put 3hrs on the main engine,1hr on kicker, 4:30 back at the dock
they(seiners) should make quick work of them, thinking might have cleaned those ones out by days end,they were getting HUGE sets....
you know, it is alot of fun when you take someone out who doesn't get out very often,1st time this year for father inlaw whos 71, and you hit it just rite...

It's really slowing down, but then every now and again we'll get a great moment or two and it will be nuts for an hour or two all over again.
I'd say it's really yo-yo'ing right now. Might be good in the morning and then terrible for the rest of the day, then the next day great in the evening at one spot and back to lame shortly there-after.
It's still better than the chinook fishing.
