Boats on Used Victoria and Other Areas

Both of these options look fairly similar on paper and who knows, could be the same make. Does anyone have any insight on either?

Nobody’s seen one of these imports up close?

Speaking of imports, I’m hoping to check out the Tsunami Pangas at some point this week. Different type of boat but maybe still applicable for my want list.

True story. Pros and cons with every design.

I’m still kind of surprised nobody has anything to say about the aluminum imports.
I've looked at them from the west coast to boat shows. Some good ones, some ****. Resale issues, where if you list a Silver Streak or Kingfisher at a reasonable price you can sell within days.

I've heard good things about Gospel? but no first hand knowledge.

If you can rig yourself and get a deal on power and parts you save a lot of money buying chinese but if you are paying labour and full price for everything, the math doesn't work for me, especially when you add in resale and risk.

Quick price drop to 25k for this 2859. Some pretty sweet options like radar, dingy, solar and heat. You have to budget lots for maintenance and haul outs but nice family gulf island boat.

I guess I've yet to see a used Silver Streak CC or Kingfisher (no CC option) that's even close to what the imports are going for brand new. That rigged and ready w/ trailer import option at $55k is pretty attractive if everything checks out. Might have to make some calls and see if there's any warranty or aftermarket support.

Some surveyors have gone over them for clients, why not do some digging and call one up to see if they have done this and will share an opinion.
That's definitely a step I'll be taking.

I will say a visit to Tsunami Pangas was quite informative. The Corvina 180 was pretty nice but definitely small compared to a 17' or 18' Whaler. The Corvina 225 seemed like a primo option for my criteria. A bit larger footprint than I have been looking for length-wise but there are plenty of advantages of the Panga design. For instance, from a speed or efficiency standpoint there's no way I could get away with running a 90 or 115hp on a 22' Whaler but a 115hp on the 225 would be plenty.

2022 Raider 190 $85K

That looks like a good deal to me
That one’s a bit smaller than I’d like. The classic 18’ Outrage is kind of the sweet spot for what I’m looking for.

I was going to look at an 18’ Dauntless tomorrow but it sold yesterday. Asking price was $26k usd. The Dauntless is a much heavier hull (almost 2x dry weight) of the classic 18’ Outrage but still would have suited my needs. 140 Suzuki w ~70 hours.

The crux seems to be finding a nicer older hull that doesn’t have a period correct two stroke or an etec on the back.
this one looks like an ok price? T top and newer kicker and low hours. 2013 Boston Whaler Outrage 190 https://www.facebook.com/share/17wYPxbNXC/?mibextid=wwXIfr

we viewed it , nicely kept , no bottom paint , we just couldnt pull the trigger with it only having the single motor, super clean boat though , they were pretty firm on ther price they were saying
2014 KINGFISHER 2825 WEEKENDER 185k cad. Smaller but looks ok without glasses on my small screen

that one is newer, heavier, and more expensive than I’d like. If I was going to spend that much I’d get a brand new panga spec’d out exactly how I wanted.

The first gen outrage 17 and classic 80s outrage 18 are the hulls I’m most interested in as long as I don’t need to repower myself. Newer versions are all much more bloated so it’d take a much better deal (like the Dauntless I was two days late for) for me to consider.

Edit: https://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/bod/d/everett-1998-grady-white-sportsman-180/7910164157.html another nice potential non-Whaler option taken out of consideration by the motor.

Clean looking C-Dory 25 Tomcat. Would be so awesome for cruising around with a little family and still good for fishing. If there's any wriggle room on price, might be able to get it home for around $120k after converting to CDN pesos and paying the 12% to the border commissars. Power should be good and trailer looks awesome. Might be time to replace fuel tanks - and there's two - so that can't be cheap. Too bad it's bit too far for me to drive down for a looksee.

I'd rather have this nearly new Rossiter for that amount of money. I talked to this dealer last summer about removing the T Top as I don't want one and don't want to have to pay for one.

This is the first generation Outrage 17 hull that I'm interested in. Sadly the motor is a non-starter and I'd much rather have a non-painted trailer.

Is a large engine well on your criteria list? They are prudent when using the boat in some conditions.

A large engine well (if I'm understanding your terminology) is not necessarily on my criteria list. Obviously it'd be nice to not worry about swamping in following seas or when quickly coming off a plane. I'm looking for a boat that'll be used 99% of the time for fishing and cruising around w/ the gal and the doggo in inside waters in fair weather.
