You are welcome! An aluminum cat would be the bomb, but I would have to win the lottery to be able to afford one. It's been a number of years since I was in Bamfield, but I remember seeing an aluminum cat out there which was partly what inspired us to try a cat. There are a few larger ones around Nanaimo and I drool when I see that tunnel sitting a foot off the water. I always liked the Australian Kevlacat and would probably sell my left testicle to get into one of them if there was a dealer here. Their 3100 series with an Alaskan bulkhead would be almost the perfect west coast boat I think. https://kevlacat.com.au/model-range-8-2-metre-series-3100/ There are a few that come up in NA from time to time, mostly on the east coast. Like this one: https://www.boattrader.com/boat/2000-kevlacat-offshore-2400-9765912/Thanks for taking the time to write this up, really great summary. I would love a metal boat for the benifits of beaching and durability and agree that the cats seem to get a bit more usable space. One day.
