Boats on Used Victoria and Other Areas

This one is an oddball for sure. I've also seen it on Pacific Boat Brokers website for years.

I only recently looked at the specs and noticed that it's listed at 30ft long!! Somehow in the pics it only looks like an 18-20ft boat.
I saw 30ft as well and call BS. There is no way that thing is bigger than 18-20ft
I don’t think that merc 50 will push a 30’ boat very far…

Looks like it's done. Or maybe they will continue with the larger boats. I wonder whatever happened to their new Heritage Boats brand?
Update. It appears Stewarts Yacht Renovations had previously bought the mold to continue to make boats (for Sewell's?). But now that they have begun to wind the rentals down, they are selling off the 17' mold. Anyone else have some news about this?

Scroll down this link to see the part about building these for Sewell's:

Too bad. Pedder bay used to have them for rentals too but with a shorter salmon season an roi on them would be difficult. Not sure if they will have them for 2025 or not? Sad to see these companies carved up but not many manufactures seems to make under 18 footers anymore. Silver streak seems to be an exception but only open? and Stabcraft whose YouTubers do a great job marketing their 14 foot opens https://www.silverstreakboats.com/used-boats/

It does seem that's the direction the industry has gone. Not enough profit in the smaller sizes? I thought Heritage had just the larger Hourston molds - 20, 23 and 26. 16 months since we heard anything from R Dale of Heritage boats -- not feeling like they will be making any boats. Makes mine a collector's item.

I love the weird and wonderful stuff you find on craigslist. One man's vision: Boston Whaler, obscure/overbuilt sub-model, overpowered, tiller style. I kind of love it.

Also, I have literally no idea where this listing is. Showed up on seattle craigslist, location listed as west vancouver, map location says Pitt Meadows...

1999 Grady White 272 Sailfish - Inboard Diesel - $79k

Don't see that every day...

No pic of the engine?
I am not a fan of the KAD44, pulling too many ponies out of the old block.
I am a 43 man myself.

Nice boat. Not sure why a Honda 75 is overpowered though? My cousin's Montauk 17 had a 115hp 2-stroke.

Anyway, the boat may well be in West Vancouver. Pics are taken very recently at Lions Bay Marina. Clearly BC plates on the Taco and trailer

Almost laughed at the second last picture. Importing aluminum boats and selling them aint easy 238k https://www.facebook.com/share/1MdTTqwjat/

Second one below used with better photos.

The highlighter yellow one having what looks like an A/C unit but empty radar mast says everything 😂

How's it work to use the head? It looks like there's a manual toilet under the v-berth cushions...but the toilet is sunk in to a hole so that it's barely above the cabin sole. Just pop a squat while watching the rods?

You are right, in theory 75hp is no big deal for a 17ft whaler. That being said, with only a captain on board sitting in the back at the tiller handle, 75hp flat out sounds terrifying. When you are going fast in a tiller boat with minimal weight onboard, it almost feels like you are a rock skipping over water, and something could 'bite' at any second and send everything tumbling end over end.

But you really feel alive until that happens.

Loves me 230k boats with seating for 2 and 2 jump seats for 4-year-old kids. In all seriousness, they are wicked-looking boats but the narrow cabin and yellow are a buzz kill.
If looks were all it took to make a good boat the commercial side of things would look a hell of a lot prettier 😅

I've heard from good sources that the welding on these things is actually pretty good however the materials are just not up to it. The paint bubbles and aluminum corrodes after a year or two of typical regular use, that doesn't sound like a worthwhile trade off to me at least.
