I just called DFO and was told the subject of Chinook retention is under
discussion and they likely won't know if any change till friday,
or possibly early next week.

Just heard from a buddy who was at the meeting,and it sounds like there will be a slot size from 45cm to 67cm,and any size hatchery.From Cradova pt to sheringham pt.It will probably be anouced next week some time. Still no word on hally.
At least we can still fish .If all is true.

this really depends on the months.

if it is just for march through april than it doesn't change too much IMO.

most winters fit in that slot range anyways... (and most are hatchery that i've caught this year).

Slot size is fine, you don't get many winters over that anyway.

My understanding is this was a SFAB meeting and the results are their recommendations.
The final decisions are in the hands of the DFO.

well I'm hoping we have already been dealt our hand with the recent closures and slot limits put in place. I can't see anything changing for us, at least for the spring time - they might put some restrictions on the summer months still.

Well thats kinda wierd if it does happen? I know where ill be fishin........ same as last year [B)]
If they are gunna pull that kinda crap they should do the entire strait.... see a lot of probs for a sooke port o' callers... and court cases... "Really I got it west of sheringham" a lot of us wouldnt be lying

This has already been passed has it not? I guess they figure most boats can't or aren't willing to go halfway to renfrew to avoid slot limits.
