Out today. A bit windy, but still fiahable. Headed out to my favourite spot at Fairfax and for some reason I thought I'd try on the east side before my usual tack on the west side. Marking tons of bait and didn't take long until I started hitting fish. It was almost comical, abouut 10 fish, all around 60-61cm, then a double header. Solo landed both with a lot of excitement, a 73 and 76cm.

AP herring spoon and a west coast skinny G copy, whatever it's called on the bottom in 150 fow.

Only in southern portions of area 19, Sidney area of 19, and 18 is 2 wild or hatchery over 62. It will likely be 1 hatchery over 62 after April 1st.

I gave coal a quick attempt this afternoon with my daughter after she got out of school.

Did my usual green spoons near the bottom 100-140’ and it was quiet with minimal bait around. Kiddo held on the bonker almost the entire time waiting to smash. Next time, kid!

Buddy said 15lbs and a few more in the low teens when he weighted in.

The weather wasn’t great but I think we avoided some of the real ugly stuff that guys got caught in.

I don’t think it’s open. Lots of rumours as to what the issue is. ( legal battle sounds most accurate ???)
But I don’t think I’d be holding my breath for it to open up soon. But who knows

Was down there today and there is chains across both lanes blocking it off. There was one truck there with a empty trailer, so don't know if he has keys to the lock or not. Just telling you what I saw. When it does open it looks great.

I stopped in their office to ask in person that exact question....was told that any announcements on the ramp opening would be on the web site. ....

Any salmon reports? I saw a few boats trolling Cole and a boat checking their traps early yesterday. I'll have kids on board again today who will want to try fishing.

The Sooke reports from the guides are hot and heavy.
