2025 looks to be a fantastic year given the abundance we are currently experiencing this winter.

This should probably go in the 2024 thread, but I couldn’t resist the chance to post the first fish picture on the new thread, and close out a great 2024. At the bell, probably about 150 feet of water, with the no bananas running at about 100 on the rigger. Lots of boats out here today, and it looks like a few people are catching as well. I got my dinner so I’m heading home.

If that was gonna happen it would have had to been in the IFMP in July so not happening.

64 cm hatchery from the harbour to start 2025 off. Half of a solo double header, popped the first one off with the gaff as thought this one was going to bigger, but should’ve kept both!

Nice work! The first real 2025 fish report!

Happy New Year. 73cm at the Bell on bottom, a few unders that were close, but didn’t boat them. Found some prawn today too. Man there’s some nice fish out there.

Bell today, 11-4. 3 keepers and 3 just unders. Spoons produced better than hoochies. Anywhere from bottom to 60ft worked. Watched the sounder and adjusted depth to where the marks were. Lots of boats out there, some were driving like sandheads.

2 keepers yesterday, 2 lost, a bunch of unders at the bell. Everything came on hootchies between 75ft and bottom.

Hard to justify the run with fishing like this in the harbour.
