Pretty much the same story for me today!Out in front of the harbour today from9-1130. 7 nice coho alas all wild tho. 120’ of water 53&63 on the rigger. Couple more hits that didn’t stick. Spoons outfished bait for me.

It's never been an issue Roland, he uses ss wire in the middle and crimps the beer can to the wire.Scott,
If that spoon is made from a beer can, presumably it is aluminium? In which case doesn't it tear especially where the clip goes though the small hole at the front?
I don't even use coho killers any more because the hook tears and rips out of whatever weak alloy they use in those...........
Was up in Nootka used the same spoon to land 10+ fish 3 of which were 17#. Lure took a beating but still swims as it should. The only trick is to figure out what kind of beer the fish are thirsty for that day. It's never been an issue Roland, he uses ss wire in the middle and crimps the beer can to the wire.
I think we should ask Admin to have a on-line Video class to learn how to make one of those. Considering all the money spent on spoons by this crew, and the amount of beer consumed. I think I’m on to something here…It's never been an issue Roland, he uses ss wire in the middle and crimps the beer can to the wire.
Did you net those herringYeah yesterday was beautiful down there. I haven't seen coho fishing this good in a long time. They are bigger and more plentiful.
The surprising find is the amount of small herring present. Fish are full of them.
Even some of the springs are still hanging around.
The coho were all over place anywhere from right at surface to 140ft down. Close in our way out didn't matter.

sashamiShort but very productive trip just off the head this afternoon! 3 hatchery and numerous wild let go.
This wild yo-yo didn’t make it back to swim another day.
