Had an epic- day at the Kitty hump on sun last-working around the 157 spot height probably 12 around the 62cm ish mark and 2 really nice 12 to 14 lbs, Very red-really prime. 250 ft on the rigger with a 20 lb ball and of course contouring up as we came close to the spot height. They had 6 inch herring in their gut but I had most of my hits on a herring aide colored flashtail on a 36 inch tie. I'm finished now as family time is required but I still see a few flatish days before the end of the month. Very worthwhile!!

Went out last Friday, around Hornby. Wind in the morning made it uncomfortable, but eventually the waves died down early afternoon. Caught a couple Chinook down at 200', just under sized, on green and gold spoon behind a green flasher. Saw some hits on the finder up at about 80', so tried trolling higher. Turned out those were all coho, which of course was non retention at that time. Prawning was terrible over by Deep Bay. I really need to find a different prawn hole.

Any suggestions on crab locations near Hornby/Denman? South/east of Flora?

Lots of action off Lazo today, no bananas skinng G and White Hoochie both producing, too many wild coho to keep count, lots of undersized chinooks, kept 2 hatch cohos. Big sea lion following us around unfortunately he snaggged my hook and I had to cut the line, saw him later towing my flasher around. I don't think the hook was set in him very hard so hopefully it pops out sooner than later.

Sounds like his karma got him.

Lots of action at the Kitty Coleman hump today, at least a dozen coho to the boat kept our limit of fin clipped fish with one nice 10 lb spring that was released. The coho were full of small shrimp, never seen that before.

Now I feel dumb for spending all my time using the boat to lounge on beaches, and not trying for some clipped coho!

What depth were the coho at?

All over the place. Most of my luck was in 100 to 200 feet of water, with the riggers set at 70 to 110 feet. Spoons and hooches worked equally good.

Hope it helps!

We were getting all our coho between 140 and 150 feet in 230ft of water, even the 9-10lb spring was at that depth. Trolling at 2.5 - 2.9 mph using white glow hoochie and skinny G 3 inch spoon, most fish were caught in and around the Kitty Coleman hump. We saw one humpback breach out towards Mittlenatch only maybe 500 yards from the hump. We were marking tons of fish down at 220 which hopefully are all springs.

Was out east of Hornby ranging between Flora and Norris, along with about a dozen other boats on Saturday AM. Out of 5 fish-on, 3 to the boat...one nice chinook released; one wild coho released; one clipped coho just long enough to be legal but I released due to size. Weeds were a massive PIA. Couldn't troll where I wanted, because of all the floating crap. All caught with plugs and a dummy flasher.

all caught between 70 and 105ft, in 200+ feet of water. Big bait clouds seen down at the bottom. Looking forward to fishing down there soon!

Out at kitty today… lots of boats and lots of action! Purple coho-killer on the bottom was working for us! 4 springs in 3 hours, released one 87, and another just under. All were white springs and between 67-75 cm… great day!

Seems that the dogfish are back, and thick. Near Flora and Norris rocks, jigging, had 5 dogfish before I gave up. Haven't hit any trolling yet.

sunday...not the best day. trolling between Norris rocks and Flora, got robbed by a seal. Trolling east of Chrome island had a dogfish get caught eating a small salmon I unfortunately didn't notice on my line. Three chinook to the boat, but undersized. All at 120 to 140 ft, in 200-250' of water. Trolling with dummy flashers and dragging various spoons. Then the wind picked up, and that was that.

Is it slow out there, or is it just me?

We went out to the hump on Saturday… very slow until the tide change later in day, and then two springs…. On 602 plugs on the bottom. The bite just turned on and quite a few boats were bringing out their nets!

East of Hornby Sunday, had some luck finding bait but it was deep, at 300 to 350'. With only 300' of line on the riggers, didn't get to bottom but still got a couple nice chinook, and a nice coho up at 200'. Beautiful day with a cow/calf pair of humpbacks feeding in the distance.

Fished Kitty yesterday morning=I am humbled-there was bait and tons of marks on the screen and I could not buy a hit! Down to 260 and everydepth up to 180. Not looking for coho or pinks. DID they start to bite on the ebb around 1 30???
