You may find it easier to fish the flood in the afternoon. It’s never fun to be stuck between a big outgoing tide and the NW wind.

Tuesday am was a legit NW15-20 in the straight and an ebbing tide, and it was ok tucked behind Pt Atkinson a bit and hiding behind the 2 freighters. Was a bit lumpy thru the harbour tho, wouldn’t have wanted to be in a boat smaller than 20’

I was. It's like shooting fish in a barrel out there.
Small pink squirt hootchies....same as sockeye stuff. Pick a flasher...it probably doesn't matter which one. 50 feet... sit back and wait 5 minutes or less....repeat.

I had 8 to 10 footers coming around Cape Beale on Monday.
A few times next wave was above the bow rail but managed to keep the anchor out of the water.
On/off the throttles for about 90 minutes until we got to Renfrew.
I’d rather not have either kind of wave

Anybody understand why the buoy heights seem so off? I generally avoid crossing once it hits .6-.7m.. which to me represent around a 4’ chop… not a 2’ chop (.6-.7m).

Yeesh, you’re crazy but my kinda crazy. Done it once before in this, wouldn’t again. Took 1.5hrs+ Good luck out there, keep that CB radio on and handy, you never know.

Was easy money today. Hit it at the tide change. Made it over average probably 30knots. Just surfed over. Traps down. Lines in. Cheers.
