Is that code? Lol

Left Sidney at 6am this morning after meeting @heavytacklecrackle at the breakwater and headed for Sandheads. Crossing was calm and glassy. Hit one right away and then not much for a couple hours. Once I moved in shallower I found a school and me and my kids got our limit in short order. Amazing day of action and one the kids won’t soon forget, they are asking now if we can do it again tomorrow! Glad I had 2 nets on board!

Looks like a great day

Well I completed my first oil change on my boat, last week and I finally got a chance to take the boat this out this afternoon for a good run and a couple hour fish at Hamely. Three pin poppers but no blood in the boat. Good thing is my oil change has no leaks so time to explore some different fishing spots.

no code, lol (if that was me)probably me and my communication skills,I’m trying as a cowichan guy who has to drive past the ferries to catch a spring,
good luck all

I normally fish Victoria and Sooke but decided to take the family out to Sidney for a little fishing and a picnic on the spit. Fished Hamely from 1-3:30 and managed to land a 55cm, a 60cm and lost another. Not knowing the area I was happy to land a couple. We released all of them.

Gotta love having those little limit busters aboard!

Gotta love fishing sidney!
Where else can you have a picnic on a beach, then have your choice of 5 or 6 beautiful small island fishing spots and crabbing galore all within 10 minutes?!

Any news on the sidney derby yesterday? I heard some rumblings but it’s not my news to tell!

Nobody likes a braggart, but yeah we won! 18lber off mandarte/halibut/hamley reefs. ripping anchovy flasher around at mach one, 200ft on the rigger, pissing my fishing partner off who wanted to troll slower lol.

Thanks to Wayne and the rest of the port sidney staff and volunteers for putting on a fun event.

2nd place was 16.4 and 3rd was 13ish i think?

Well done!

Congrats advThxance. Nice score with the Side bet also. Saw you at Hamley then I guess you took off for Mandarte ? Super slow out there but someone had to get a nice one. Thanks to Wayne and staff for all there hard work making this derby happen. I think he raised 10 k for salmon enhancement which is awesome and I’m sure peninsula stream keepers and psf will be happy to have that money. Too bad most derbies have canceled because of restrictions as it was a way to generate money for all these great causes. My buddy won the Brian Gibson sportsman award and it’s a long story but he has good karma coming his way.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy (or a better fisherman). Nice work Colin.
