Hey trendsetter, your obviously not using a flasher? Please let me know if I'm mistaken, always wanted to fish without flashers, should I just attach them to the ball and then 3-8 ft. Up attach my spoon or Chovy 5 ft further back?
Thanks for the input!
Scott

Hey scotty,

Actually we were running with flashers, what I meant was length from the cannon ball to the flashers. Shorter was working better yesterday.

You can fish without them too. I'd usually put a dummy flasher on the ball then clip your line about 4 feet above and 10 feet back. Use a lure with lots of action like a plug or a spoon. Hootchies won't work without a flashers.

Cheers

That's awesome liquidguides01, thanks for the info I'm gonna try it out this week!! I'll let you know how it goes!

sounds good! probably giver a shot for an evening troll after work later this week.. small coho are startin to show up out their to. might be worth tryin for halibut off that shoal aswell

Fished the harbor today from about 10:00 until 3:00. Was pretty lumpy until the tide changed around 2. Nothing but a couple shakers for me.

Hi guys wondering whats the vhf channel most play on? Seems from reading the forum 88a new to vhf radio always had just a small handheld now got this new link 8 from lowrance.

How has crabbing been in English bay? I'm getting out this weekend and hope to ply the waters around the north arm for some springs on Saturday, any body been out in the last few days with some up to date reports?
Thanks,

Making a roll call, how many members from the Van side are heading to Silva for the Derby?

Hey nick,

i was hoping to after some more work to the boat, but have no ticket and will stay local for most of it, otherwise I was planning on being in....you ?

Bad Habits will be plying its trade for sure! Got a little side action going between a few SUCKERS, it will be nice having them pay for my fuel ;)

We are crossing tomorrow morning, after a quick crabbing to land some dinner for later in the day. I expect to be on the other side by early afternoon. Picking up my ticket at Silva before 6pm Friday night. They are opening at 9am Saturday (seems pretty late for a derby day to me!) But I don't want to be caught with my riggers up standing in line waiting for a ticket while the morning bite is hot!

I think its going to be a great derby. Early prediction that the winner is within 2 of 30 pounds, plus or minus. Hopefully its one of mine! ;)
