my reel started smokin , then slack , almost broke my rod holder lol ,,guessin a seal , lost my chrome teaser lol , need ta restock

fog ducker I saw you today you had the same problem with the break offs? I had a rod popoff the clip and when I reeled it in only the head was left of the chovy. then when I hooked up at 70' the fish came to the surface then ran for 30 feet and then as I was retrieving fish off starting to think a seal got it? dont know what its like do they just yard your line off sometimes? i think it was a 12 lbs spring :/

I will be out there in the derby tomorrow, should be fun. Look for the guys stuffing lead weights down a fishs mouth a-la "The Beachcombers" 1977, if anyone saw that episode.

Gorgeous day again, got sealed a few times missed a bunch and a bigger one down deep. Came home with a small hatch coho. Also got a sea cucumber.

One other boat was catching fish. Two older fellows on it. They left after catching their limit of hatchery coho. Other than that only the odd fish caught from what I saw.
