Eh Fog Ducker,
I stoped in the Nook Last Friday evening for some boat juice. Thought I would introduce myself. Garry said "you were on your way! should be here any time".
Maybe next trip we'll cross paths?
Last weekends fishing was as good for us as everyone else. Salmon Limits daily, lots of crab. Got into 5-6 lbs coho in Kelp Bay for the Kids. My twin girls(14) Were getting double headers with lots of air time. It was a blast.

let me know next time ya head over ,: Allway's on Ch6 , forgot to mention my ride up from PB that afternoon , I HAVE NEVER seen it this rough before , for the guy's questioning or 2nd guessing the trip up , be cautious , it was nasty ,Hey Bish !! 2 boats following me , had turned back , 20 - 22 foot boats , I felt bad for them , almost turned around to follow them back , was worried for them , no kidding , not fun , again mornings if ya can , I left around 3 pm ish from PB . Got to Pill , flat calm...FD..

I heard it was nasty Friday. My neighbor went up Friday night and said they took 8 footers over the bow – crazy times!
We just went up to China Creek on Sunday evening at about 8:30 and it was brutal. Monday morning was totally flat, and the afternoon in the sound was great, and on the way back to Port Alberni Monday night it was brutal again.
So definitely go in the morning!!

Anytime we get warm warm weather the only time to travel the canal is early or late. Those thermal driven winds can get down right scary.

SeaWolf and I headed up on Thursday and came back yesterday. Spent two sleeps at the Nook. Hey Fog Ducker, nice boat too bad we were not able to hook up. Lots of Coho and small Springs but no slabs for us. We made it offshore to 7 mile Thursday afternoon, kept two smaller Springs and released a bunch more. Friday we fished Swale and Kirby, lots of smaller ones again, seems there is Coho everywhere averaging 4 to 6 pounds. Kept an eye on the cleaning table at the Nook while on shore and the only slabs seemed to come from Sail Rock using anchovie. We fished mostly Coyote spoons at 70 to 110 feet. On the way back we limited out on Sockeye in the canal using the usual Sockeye gear. Overall a good trip but lots of wind. SS

Thanks for the report Maurice , , not many fish updates lately, Sure miss Jeff's reports from Mill's .Is he alive ? ..Yes , the little guy's , ALOT of them ,your probably not alone , Sounds like ya got to take some meat home , Good Red Meat too ! Reading some of my emails , the larger fish are still about , not huge numbers , the areas where the little guy's are schooling , They are NOT there,Very few anyway. Thanks for noticing the boat , I am heading over in a few day's , Looks like the weather should be nice, I will be concentrating on getting out a little further perhaps , might go stick the nose into the Cree areas , usually picks up this time of year . Any of ya all heading up , drop by for a visit , talk soon Maurice..

Thanks Felix, we had a blast and are looking forward to sharing the fire pit with you. I don't know if you are familiar with Sail Rock but it is about 4 miles on the other side of Cree towards Ukee, right in the open water. We did try for halibut at 7 mile and SeaWolf and I are in dispute as whether I had a 150 pounder on or maybe a cable on the bottom. I tired out after a while and passed the rod over to him however, the swim ladder on the back of the boat is very unforgiving, even with 80 lb. Powerpro......
I never got to see Gary either as he was away in Port Alberni. We did meet Andrew and his wife who are new to the Nook this year. August should be a blast so if we can coordinate a trip we will have to have a little side wager....... SS

SS, we got our larger fish all at 120 ft or deeper (down to 150) green hoochie/spoon
shakers were a serious problem and didnt see many large ones taken at all... we ended up with 4 spring between 15 and 25 lbs over fri/sat

Hey Waddy29 as always, you find out that the best fishing was the day before you got there and the day after you left or what you weren't doing that you should of been doing....... thanks for the report. Like I mentioned, we didn't see many slabs at the cleaing table but we did see some. SS
