Well I'm Green with envy.

Just cooked up some Kirby spring from last weekend on a hot plate here in Fort MacMurray.
Just Not the same as a BBQ in Bamfield. (Did I bust a bowl or something?)
As I drive past the tailings ponds on the way to and from work all I can tink about is how soon I can head back.
Will be back over on Thursday afternoon.

We fished Kirby this morning as well out of 24 boats counted only saw 2 nets out. Sounded pretty typical on the radio for most. If you caught fish consider yourself lucky.

Actually we saw the same thing as a lot of small ones were being caught and I think about one other boat caught. I was trolling about 1.5 to 1.8 at 102 ft. Seem funny but I guess everything has to be right for the bit????? But a nice day on the water fishing is better than work![8D]

Just got back from Bamfield. Fished Thursday evening with Osama and got into 2 springs at Kirby. One around 7 pounds. The other was a smaller one. Fished Kirby and King Edward Saturday morning at got into 9, including one hatchery Coho. Fish were anywhere from 30 to 90. Fished the afternoon tide with nothing. Fished Saturday morning and got 6 at King Edward. Fished Saturday afternoon and got one at Pill and a small one at Kirby.

Most of the fish were 5 to 7 pounds and the biggest was around 10. Seemed to be shallower on Saturday as my best depth was 30 feet.

Becuse of all the smaller springs moving in, we decided to go into hali mode for the group this weekend.

In all, limited both days on fish from 12-110lbs

Most high thirties low forties.

Millsy will have some cool pics to post when he gets back to town.

And some decent springs have shown up again, just not in the same spots![8D]

Gimee the gaff!!!

Yeah at least 24 boats at Kirby at times as many as 40. You would have thought the fishing was hot, as most stayed the majority of the day Saturday. If you moved out of that area you saw next to no one.

Hey guys, here's a fresh report from the weekend. Osama and I hali fished Sat and Sunday with a bunch of guys from the oilpatch. We' didn't go too far, anchored up enjoyed some pops and a lot of Alberta ******** stories and slayed. This pic is from day 1. Most of those are 40's with the biggest being 115 and the smallest being 25. Day 2 was similar although no huge ones made it to the boat.

These guys took home close to 250 pounds of vac-packed fillets and man, what a good trip. 3 of them are coming off a Rivers Inlet trip last summer where they fished for a week and all they got was a 12lb spring!

Osama ripped it up again as usual, he's really coming into his own out here I'll tell you that. I don't think there's a better fisherman in Bamfield right now.

Salmon fishing was kind of slow on Sat we heard on the water, but we were hali fishing and didn't go after them. Sunday afternoon saw some action, as those were the better tides of the day to fish. I went out on Monday morning and pulled 6 out of Whittlestone/Little Beale on the morning tide before getting sealed, and then I packed 'er in and went hali fishing for the rest of the day. All of my springs were small, and talking to some other guys on the water the same thing was going on at Kirby and Beale too.
