2009-Barkley-Bamfield-Poett Nook Fish Reports

SS

I'll be out in the morning halibut fishing, working my way back looking for a couple springs.

Monitoring 6 at this time of the year.

Use green/blue speckled needlefish hoochies inside, thats the yum yums for them right now. Small spoons too. Green/glow ect.

Kirby is still hot. Surfline too.

Gimee the gaff!!!

I was planning to fish this week Thursday to Saturday. Got a great report from Iron Noggin for Ucluelet. Was debating between Bamfield or Ucluelet? Sounds like you can not miss in either spot. Other then flipping a coin, any input?

This was our setup all weekend. We had a fish on in the first 2 min. so we didn't change a thing. The green did a bit better than the blue.

We fished Pill Pt. for a few hours and the rest of the time was from Kirby up towards Edward King.

Almost all of the fish caught were full of needle fish.

Is that the size 4 or 3.5 Coyote?

This is Killing me Man , nice to see the great reports.
Kelly , Well , Don't need to ask if you and your folks had a great time , pretty sweet over there , Eh ! Nice photos , good work
As most of you have seen or heard , these fish are feeding heavily on NeedleFish , including all our inside Hali's on our last outting , they varied in size , some were actually quite long , One of my guests actually put on one that had looked like it was just freshly eaten for breakfast, threaded it on his jig , to the bottom she went , less than 10 seconds , Wham , like a freight train ! My point , I am thinking that 4.0 and 5.0 Spoons should get the fish to the boat as well , Jeff , I will be there in my boat from the 11th for a few day's , try ya on 6 . How was Hali Huntin Today , alway's like seeing your photos! SS , Maurice , How did the Nook treat ya , Was Gary bahavin , Good Guy,,
Later Fellas,,, FD

Ha ha......are you going to submit this one to the Chippendale's fishing calendar?!? [:p]

I see you left the "greeny" on the rod that you guys were mentioning earlier in this thread?? How was it for wrastlin' with the bottom?

Great pics Kelly...thanks for sharing!

How long a drive is it to Poett Nook from Port Alberni? Who is it on the forum that is involved with the operation?

Going to Bamfield June 3 to 7. Look forward to catching some fish and meeting a few forum members. Will have radio on 6.

Buddy in town from N.W.T.

Been so godddamned fun! Obviously salmon fishing is on, but today we decided to give halis a whirl since the tide was a friendly 9:20am - worked well with the late night visits...

Left the harbour at about 8. Returned at 11:30 with 43,25lb hali's, limit of 10-14lb springs and a nice little hatch coho to boot.

Pics below, some cool video footage to follow...

You know it! They are all WAY offshore right now!!!

No ***** Craig, their still horny for bellies and herring. Saving my puss for later.
