Yup this would be that clown, Cory! Hope you have no hard feelings fogducker...simply defeats the purpose of my new forum to sign up, create a new topic posting that there is better info elsewhere with a link to another forum? Sent you an E explaining why I had to delete but no response. Being a mod you see a lot of people sign up just for the purpose of advertising another forum. Anyways enough about that, you do a great job keeping the folks up to date with reports here. I check over here every few days for a good read. Hope you have a good fishing season......man I wish I could fish out there as much as you are able to! Its my favorite place.

The fishing in Barkley is hot over at Cree and up to Meares. Hot depths 70 -100. Lots of pilchards around. We were using 6" spoons.

Fished Southbank yesterday for about an hour. Picked up a couple of small springs and released them.

Headed to the Big Bank and what a difference. We picked up our limits in springs and coho. (3 people) 3 springs over 20, the rest in the teens. Some very large hatchery coho, 15lbs or so. Released a ton of wild ones.

Double headers were the norm. Would have tried for some halibut but our 3rd was a little green around the gills.

I love going out there :D

Geez, how could I forget. Saw a lot of dolphins gorging themselves on some kind of bait. Endless amounts of whales, including 3 that decided to swim alongside our boat as we trolled. They were about 100 feet away from us.

Mark good to hear you smoked them and are getting out fishing. Did the chihuahua come out or stay at home in the purse :D:D Im trying to get out to the banks this week but things arent looking good so might have to just fish the inside.

Try me on my cell , radio can be a lttle hard on the ears at times , ch 6 or 9 typically , look forward to it (1-604-802-9971 )

Charlie. I had all my slabs on that side ,[:o)],,, that's not possible , I havn't caught any yet, lol, The boat was leaning slightly , correct , when I am in the boat by myself ,she does lean starboard a bit , but , the main reason , the twin V6's on the back , and a new 4 stoke Yami remote Kicker on the Star as well, I had to mount it on that side , Swimgrids on the Port ,3 big Batteries as well ,would be nice to try and get the 2 batteries to the Port Side... she's a little heavy in the butt , just the way Randy likes his women , With 2 guys and tabs properly adjusted , most would agree , she has plenty of Gitty-Up , and the ride is Awesome , very smooth ...;)

Fishing in Barkley Sound, Bamfield and the offshore banks is just fantastic.
The Bamfield fire Dept. derby, last I heard is being lead by a 43 from Cree with a 38 from Rainy Bay 2nd. I've heard of lots of fish in the thirtys' from Diplock, Mearse, and Beale. Offshore banks are all on fire. I did 2 trips to 7 Mile yesterday and had limits of coho and springs for four guys both times and the largest were 32 and 34 pounds.
Just get out and fish. They are realy everywhere. It just dosen't get any better than this.

A lot of us. Osama, and myself etc. are just to busy and to beat to post reports. Send an e-mail or pm. if you need a report.

Fished Bamfield from Sat July 25th thru Aug 1st and what a blast. Never caught so many fish. The weather was great and the fishing was better. I fish by myself and could not put down the second rod as I was to busy with just 1 line down. If you go out for a day and get shunked, sell your boat :)

Must say that this was the best fishing I have ever seen. I took a 35LB and a 37LB from Mears Bluff. I also hit fish at Cree, Pill Point, Diplock, Kirby. I used mostly anchovie and purple haze teaser heads and green flasher at around 70'. Lots of Tyee's where caught by lots of people everywhere. I probally threw back to the fish gods 50 keeper during the week as I was looking for Tyee's or anything over 25lbs. Trolling at 2 to 2.5 MPH (GPS speed) was the magic number.

I stayed at Poett Nook and actually towed the boat out there over the gravel. The road is what it is and no problems. Very nice crew running Poett Nook and I also gave Andrew a couple of fish.

All I can say is that if you want some trophy fish or any fish at all get out there and have the time of your life. I was also treated with a couple of awesome humpback whale shows to add to the excitment. All and all best fishing I have ever had

Fished out of Salmon Beach for 3 days over the long weekend. Group of 7 buddies 37 fish. Mostly nice sized hatchery coho and a few springs in the same size range. Saturday was very nice on the water but Sunday and Yesterday were a little soupy with some of the crew chumming the waters. Sunday was our best day and we fished the South West corner around the " upside down bunny" or the oven mitt as some know it and I call it. We were pretty much alone out there for the time we were there and it was some of the funnest fishing I have had in years. Nice 10-15 lb. hatchery coho right on the surface. In the end we put away the downriggers and just 10 pulls and Bam! Great fun.

Quick question regarding fuel in Bamfield: Is the fuel dock at the Kingfisher Lodge the only place to fill up your boat ? Please let me know ( and apologies if this was discussed in earlier pages of this topic ).

Cloud

Poett Nook has fuel. 1.33 liter last week. The float with the green roof is the fuel dock, you can see it on the picture I posted above

Fish are huge and numerous right now. Every trip yields at least one tyee sized fish. Today we had a 38.5 and several high twenties. Nailed a 19 pound hatchery coho yesterday and a regular had a 18 the day before! Several over 10 everyday.

Offshore banks have been the best, but the fish have been trickling into the sound the last two days with several coming from the surfline area today -Meares/Beale/E.K. So it's about to go off in the sound.

Sorry for the lack of posts right now, but as Ken said, it's a nutty time and we're beat to z**** right now. I did just have a huge cancelation for the weekend so it looks like some recreation might happen. Doubt it though with the fish that are showing up!

Any second now Buddy! SMOKED a whack of Barkley's day before yest, and fairly close (outside SB). Standard clone BronzeBack's ranging from 25 through 36. Back to that spot today to have a boo - and they'd wandered. Sucked, had to put up with a bunch of those bloody 35+ whites all day, and HUGE coho so vicious it was tough to get through them! :D Anyway, being that close, I'd guess those fish homing towards the Stamp should show in the Sound about... NOW! [:p]

It's either already, or just about to HAPPEN! [^]

Back in for an eve to regroup and put the other Hat on. Letcha know as it goes...

Cheers,

This past long weekend we headed up to our lot at Salmon Beach with a group of hunting buddies and headed out to the banks and local Islands in shore etc. Was a great trip. We hit a big school of hooked nosed Northern coho and had a blast. It was literally like fishing in a stocked fish pond but out on the great big blue. You could have rigged anything and caught them. In the end we put the riggers away and just fished them on the surface in the motor wash. Here are some pics (I have more coming).

I left my camera on the boat up on the coast. I'll post some more later FWIW.
