I'm just relieved that we are all happy again!:D

Had I known that my innocent little report was going to cause some people so much grief, I might have thought twice before posting. However, I have learned a lot from Nog and Charlie by following this tread - makes it all worth it. Thanks guys!

Can't wait until next time - but right now I have no boat, guess I might have to deal with that first![:o)]

slamming?? hardly,,,hardly anyone got outside and people who fished inside got a couple here, couple there. Its still what i thought it would be, tough sledding tgo get your fish, therefore ill wait till it improves

Did you even bother to read the thread noted above?
"double digits in a couple of hours", "Limits of springs in short order each day", "Whistle Buoy was good", etc.

Just a few of the reports I have had forwarded from Sunday suggests the large body of fish we left behind is still hanging close to the same area. Not only some decent springs (and hali's to near 40 pounds as "bycatch") but good numbers as well. Weather was noted as pretty crappy, but do-able. From the "inside" waters, a couple of reports suggest there are a good handful working the beach circuit.

"Couple here, couple there"? Yeah, couple LIMITS here, couple limits over there. Looks like some of the Ladz know their stuff fairly well!

Also couldn't help but notice the comment from Bod: "Can't imagine what it would have been like this weekend if the commercial boats didn't clean them all up." LOL! :D

However in the face of all evidence to the contrary, it is somewhat interesting and humorous to watch some stick to their guns! [^]

Cheers,
Nog

Well, everything is in perspective! :)

There is a big difference in towing from one side of the island to the other, and driving and/or boating 300/400 miles to fish? I pick and watch my times closely, even when towing up… and, I do very much admit there is a reason I wait until end of July and August for my “main” trip and before I run my boat about 1300 miles up and down the WCVI! :D

Hey, Nog… talking about water?
I just ran across this picture I took in 2008. I run into “this” just about on every trip, I “run” up! Might also be why some decide they would rather drive/tow rather than boating it? Might also be part and one of the reasons I now own a bonifide 30' 'Boston Whaler' "offshore" boat! :)

Just another day on the pond! [:0][:0]

Oh, forgot again... 227 (and that does include marinas and lodges)! ;):D

Just talked to the myster, lots of fish around longbeach. Nothing huge 8-15 average with the odd bigger mixed in. Double digit days...:D

I thought it was a ucluelet report thread, not an offshore report;)

Pass the "Pack" back, :)... that picture was taken less than five miles off "Cape Beale, just WNW! And, there were no "weather" warnings out! LOL [:0] :D

added...
Tis, one reason, I keep telling everyone to watch it around 'Beale' If you look real close can see land right above the swell. I had three others on board, two were down below hugging "buckets", one was on the stern heaving overboard. I was actually turning into the 'Broken Group' to get out of it. Figured it would be better for "them" and I would not have to be cleaning the boat! Flatter than a 'pancake' in 'Barkley'! LOL

Roe Bags, Myster is one i know and trust and thats better than i thought, want a good chance at Hali,s so we wait till winds drop 5-15 for a couple day period

I use to fish with Ken back in the high school days. We would walk into any given pool where people have been fishing all day with no fish. He would cast his line in and FISH ON! Then he would do it again! Ive never seen anyone catch fish like him.. seriously.

VERY Good out there this go. :D

What we saw:
- Big Bank: Good Numbers of large springs, halibut so thick in areas we actually had to move.
- The Wreck: Very slow for springs, halibut starting up.
- South Bank: Good numbers but smaller fish.
- Portland (spp) Point: Was good for larger springs but died off 2 days ago.
- Lighthouse Bank: VERY</u> good right now, the large springs (to 40 pounds!!) that moved in from the above.
Don't know about the 5 or 7 mile areas.

Coho VERY large for this time of year, but numbers appear to be off from recent past years. May change as the season progresses.

Looking to be one hell of a season Ladz! I'm just in to shake off the fatigue from a week straight working them, then perhaps sox in the ditch, or back at it with the Guide Hat on. Letcha know as it goes...

Cheers,
Nog

PS: Kenny is still putting on a Fine Show out of Ukee each day ;)

PSS: Holy Chit! 1,000 posts! EEK! Gonna have to pour a rum to celebrate! [^]
