[Sculpin]

Saturday was ugly for weather. Started out around Great Bear Rk with the pack. Had a few hit's and saw others landing fish etc. I'm sure it was good but we were after the bottom dwellers. Trolled over to Sail Rk. and picked up a nice ling cod. Should have stayed there and picked up a few more but decided to POUND over to the SW corner and further North. Was a rough ride but was worth it as my fishing buddy that gets out not enough picked up a chicken halibut and a springer right off the bat. I finished the bite with a small spinger that we have marinating in a coca cola brine as we speak. My son picked up another chicken halibut and we headed in.

Was rough out there but not unmanagable. Calmed down a bit in the afternoon.

Thanks for the update Sculpin, were headed over this weekend with the kids. We'll be sure to bring the Gravol. Good to hear there's some fish around.

Yes it's a brine for smoking. I use salt, brown suger, some Montreal Steak spice, and one can of Coke. I like to cut them into finger sized strips. Good stuff for sure.


The weather is looking good for the weekend. Should be nice out there.
