I got the 12 x 9What width of tab did you get? When I had my 542, I had the 9" tabs (like others above) installed and there were no issues with clearance of the kicker.
The 9" tabs were certainly sufficient from a performance standpoint.
You’ll be fine, IMO.That's the tilt it would be in to not interfere with the tab.
Thanks for checking in! I went with the bolt electric 9 x 12.. ended up mounting then 2" from chine. Has worked really really well. Huge performance improvement. Good luck with yours.Hi Mike. How did you end up making out? Just about to embark on this journey. I got the Bennett M80 sports tabs which are 8” x 10”, not sure if that would help with your problem
how far from the bottom of the hull do the struts attach? I’m looking for the vertical measurement. Trying to measure on my 542, especially on the swim platform side. Also are those the 12x9 tabs?I have the same hull as yours and the bolt trim tabs. Never had issues with the kicker hitting the plates. I get best efficiency when kicker is 80-90% down. Going all the way down and then 4-5 clicks up. Adjust based on the tide, current and load/number of people onboard.

Do have photos of your install? That’s what I went with and want to see how it turned out for you before I get started. Thanks for checking in! Thanks, what year is your hull?
It was a 2017, I no longer have it though. If you have any questions let me know. Thanks, what year is your hull?
Yes. 12x9. Boat is in the water atm but it’s very similar to the one that Mike posted above.
Okay good to know. I was hoping theee wasn’t going to be clearance issues. Only issue I can see is I may have to replace by swim grid support as it’s a single strut instead of two like I’ve seen on others.Mine is a 1998. Same tabs, same positioning.
