Trailer: Plumbed-in washdown system

I've got a dual axle Shoreland'r: spent a few nights on the side of the road this summer with a crapped-out brake caliper due to rust/neglect---paid the price of being the third owner of a trailer, not knowing how the first two owners treated it (probably not good).

Anyone out there have any comments about a plumbed-in washdown system? I see "Trailer-Spa" has a system. Seems like it would be pretty easy to install your own with a few trips to a hardware store.

Anyone care to chime in on whether they're worth installing or how to go about doing it? Can you get the same effect with a garden hose? Do disk brakes get different treatment then drum brakes?
thanks

The backing plates on most trailers have places for wash downs systems to mount to. They are easy to install. And just as easy to make yourself with some tubing and a couple of brass fittings. Fresh Water is always a good thing.
