Well guys, times running out. Who's going fishing this week-end and where are you going?

I will be out around the mouth of the Cap on Sunday for sure. I'm taking someone who has never been salmon fishing and he's very excited to go.
Hopefully the weather and the current both calm down.

What's a Cap? I thought that fishery was extinct, exterminated by the Squamish FN.

If it was exterminated it might have been caused by the dam that was built to give you electric power.

Good one. But lets try and get along. I have heard that the springs are early this year and should be staging now.I hope to be out Friday and possibly Sat and Sun if I catch fish. I have caught nice chum there this time of year(for indian candy)

Brisco I am out Saturday afternoon. PM sent.

Coho celebration is on Sunday so be prepared for a bit of silliness if you launch at Ambleside.

I may get out Saturday.

Will be out on Sunday. Boat name "its a keeper" will be on 88a. Good luck to you all who venture out.

Item on news tonite. They showed a 20 lb halibut that was apparently caught out in front on the Cap today. Unreal !!!

Cool. If I had caught that sucker you had better believe we would be enjoying halibut and chips. But I think the only way these fish stand a chance at a comeback would be for us to leave them in the water.

Heard was slow on the Cap today. 10 boats out and only 3 got fish. The Natives apparently were doing very well in the river.

Yeah it was slow. I went out this afternoon, caught an undersize within 15 minutes. Then the wind came up and the fun was over. I saw one fish caught that looked small. The guy told me it was 12 maybe 15 lbs....I really should get my eyes checked I guess.
I was thinking 12 maybe 15 inches!

Anyway, I started at the Bellboy at 8 a.m. till 10 and zippo, never saw a net out. Moved over to the Cap with the hoard and fished next to Predator and a couple of other guides, zipp. Never saw a net out, it was dead. Heard on the radio a couple of guys at T-10 to Sandheads and they had nothing either. One thing I noticed was a lot of shakers around and I caught a few. I feel guilty because I could have avoided them by not letting my line stay on top of the water. Not only did I lose expensive bait but may have killed one or two.In future I'll get my line down quicker.

Got a phone call from a friend of a friend @ the Cap and he just boated a 28. The boat next to him boated one in the high thirties at the same time. The only action they've seen all afternoon.

Sounds like a late evening fishery...
