Well have decided to abort on my 206 double eagle build. As much as I love it and had big plans for it, it just dose not fit into the life plans ahead ( house renos ). I decided I can’t be without a boat and need something easy to deal with and capable of doing a bit of everything. List of use would be, interior lake fishing for trout and Kokanee, salmon fishing Nooka sound inside Chanel’s, moose hunting bigger lakes in the north and days on the water with the family swimming and beach combing. As I was putting thought into all of this a good family friend on the island just happened to call me to let me know he was gonna sell his very lightly used 15” smoker craft hurricane ( same as the Alaskan model) it was a short conversation and it was a done deal. Think it will fit the bill well for now, came with a 3cyl 25hp Johnson and 4 stroke 5hp mariner kicker. It will be a fun easy to do project I plan on adding electric riggers, small electrical system, floors, new seat, sounder and a few custom features all of witch I’ll post pics of along the way. If any of you guys running these smaller boat out there have ideas and pics to share I’d love to see and here em. Think it’s getting named THE REEL TIN SHADY!! Lol I will post some pics shortly phone won’t let me post at this moment for some reason!

Here’s a few pics. Nothin fancy but will cover most of my needs! Gonna order up a bunch Of parts And materials this week and get started on it. Stay tuned!!

Thanks guys. I grew up fishing out of a tiller drive aluminum boat that was a bit bigger then this one ( 16 duraboat with a 45 Honda) But I always enjoyed it, was nice and easy to get in close to shore and maneuver around reefs, pull traps and just Do a bit of everything. Sucked in the rain tho! But a floater suit will help with that. I’ve also decided I think I’m gonna put a bow rail on it.

I put a wrap around bow rail on my Alaskan and it proved very functional and made the boat pop in looks-cost 500 for an aluminum welded one-installed

Few mor pics from today. Started engine service on both kicker and main. Ran the main for the first time today and did a compression test. 135 on all three, motor starts and runs perfect. Pulled the end cap off the strb seat to have a look as both sides will be used for storage. Monday will hurt the wallet a bit as everything is getting ordered including marine ply for the floor as well as epoxy resin to coat it in. Hope the weather gets better for the upcoming build!

Well finally getting started on putting this rig together. I’ve been collecting parts and materials for the build. First project I started as it can be built in the shop after it gets dark out. This is my design of a small console for keeping things neat and handy. It’s made out of 1/2 starboard and will have switch panel, rpm gauge, USB ports, sounder mount and a small storage try for what ever. Not done yet but thought I’d post the start of it.

Well been spending a lot of time working on my travel trailer putting a new roof on it and updating a lot of things. Haven’t had a lot of time to work on the boat but I should be able to get on it full steam shortly here. Today I had a little time so I built my electrical panel up. This will be installed on the under side of one of the seats with a nice deck hatch on the out side to access fuses and breakers. More pics to come once installed
