" Originals are not required to be on board. Copies are fine, but if originals are requested they need to be produced in a timely manner "

" original documents should not be laminated, although laminated copies on board are ok"

Thistledew did you miss this?????

Why would one want to take out originals on to the boat where its damp and may get wet as some of us have gone to the trouble to get all of thse wonderful pieces of paper, only to get wrecked and then have to pay a small fee and probablly lots of time to get new ones.

Like a said earlier a copy laminated should be more than fine as if they have your full name and the C number on your boat one quick call is all they should need as all our stuff is on file on computor.

This is really all not that hard have everything organized in a document holder with EVERYTHING you can think of, all the 5 things you need the ownership papers insurance etc bombard them with everything you could think of then they know your not "hiding" something.
I dont understand why alot of you are making this harder on yourselfs???????
Its what they want so just comply already.....

Good luck wolf

just a thought, if they don't like laminate copies why not get out the vaccuum packer and vacc. all docs in indivdual packs, can be cut open then resealed when home

go ahead and keep your originals vacuum packed, they don't care, just make sure ALL the documents you need to have on a small commercial vessel are onboard whether originals or copies or laminated copies....just make sure you can produce the originals in a "timely manner" if requested....is just that simple...

Cheers Searun - And Others:

Please shoot me an email with your name/address/phone number and I will call about your Marine First Aid Certificate. I have not heard of others who are missing theirs. I checked with a couple of guides in the last two courses and they have received their copies. In the meanwhile the Red Cross Certificate will suffice for TC should you be stopped as they only require Standard First Aid and you were issued your SFA ticket the day of the course.

If others are in 'the same boat' as Searun, shoot me a similiar message and I will follow up. Thank you.

My appologies for the delay and I will inquire as soon as I have your info.
