Squid Fishing with a Light

Hey Guy's

I understand that there is a rule regarding fishing with light and that it needs to be less than 1m from your lure. If in theory I had an underwater light, and tied my squid jigs to the bottom of it on a 1m leader would I be on right side of the law? If I used the lights wire as the main line?

Really want to try night time squid fishing and trying to figure out how to do it legally

What about if I have the boats lights on and they happen to bring the Squid, would this be any different than fishing from a lighted pier?
