Two weeks ago I spent 5 hours fishing for rockfish and lingcod off Sheringham Point without getting one single bite. It was my first time fishing in that area so I am not very familiar with it. That area is open all year so it would be an ideal place to go. Can anyone share some of their experiences on bottom fishing in that area?

When I lived at Otter Point, we used to fish the flats on either side of Sheringham, Point no Point, in front of Tugwell and Muir creek. I found it was better in about 80-120' of water. I used to use big buzz bombs, big hootchies with a 5 oz mooching sinker and anything else I could scrounge up. Not a lot of big fish, but lots of lings in the 5-15 lb range with some great rock fish and black bass along the kelp beds.
