Mine's a 19 ft, but no hull extension. Merc 9.9 four stroke gets it to 5-5.5 kn @ 4500 rpm.

You helped me learn something today . I had to look up hull speed……
“Hull speed is the theoretical maximum speed a displacement hull can achieve without significantly increasing wave resistance. It's essentially the speed at which the wavelength of the boat's bow wave becomes equal to the boat's waterline length. This speed is often calculated using the formula: Hull Speed (knots) ≈ 1.34 * (square root of waterline length in feet). “

Absolutely.

Under kicker power, once the boat reaches hull speed, no sense in trying to go faster. The little auxiliary won't get the hull on plane. It's just more fuel and more noise for no gain.

The only place the extra HP on a kicker helps is to maintain hull speed against wind and waves.

I checked with APM and the kicker is not compatible with the smart gauges. They told me that but thought maybe the rpm’s might show.

Kicker is 2000 era, has manual shift and throttle cable controls. I installed a cheap Faria tach next to the main tach and connected it via the plug on the controls.

She’s just floating around at that rpm, it really wants more. Just instant power, quite amazing.

Here’s my new deck chair, I got 2 of them. They are really nice and comfortable. Very stable and seem to be very well put together. I was going to go with the Yeti’s for $400 a pop but these seem just as good. Costco, $99

These chairs are on sale at Costco Nanaimo for $65, saw them today. Gave them my receipt and got $50 back as I paid higher for the 2 I bought. Pretty good of them to let you have the sale price after the fact. They are a great deck chair and for that price they’re a steal. Can’t really tell any difference between these chairs and the $400 yetis.
As an aside, the boat is running great. Couldn’t be happier with the power and how the boat rides. Autopilot is fantastic and works with both the big motor and kicker.
