They started on the pod today.

The back plate on the pod is 1/2” thick. It takes most of the abuse from the weight and torque of the motor, according to the fabricators.

Ordered the new trim tabs today. I went with the Bennett bolt electric 12x12 and indication unit. I didn’t go for the auto trim as I’ve heard mixed reviews on that.

Got word today from Alberni Power and Marine that my Merc seapro 225 xxl shipping schedule is now 5-6 weeks out. It was originally to be here mid to late Feb. the tariff threats are causing major issues and backlogs on current orders. Luckily for me APM has kept aside a 225 XL motor that they are willing to convert to XXL and keep price the same. Hats off to them .
If I didnt have this option then the motor that is on order could be subject to the 25% retaliatory tariff that Canada is threatening to impose come March 23. Based on the 25% that would increase cost by about $7,000, just on the motor. I would assume that this will have a big impact on Merc sales if things carry on down this path.

POD build slowed today as they are waiting for some round tubing which will go around the swim grid. Things are starting to take shape and should be finished this week.

POD is almost done. They were painting the top side with an anti skid coating today, charcoal colour. And mounting. Not necessarily in that order. I should be able to pick up boat tomorrow afternoon.

That does make me feel better, thank you. I hear what you’re saying about new boats. If you want a new Seasport 24 they are $250k plus. Not sure what a 22’ would be but likely not much different and they are hard to get. Anyways, I’ll be able to call mine a 22’ soon enough .

$98k with a 250 Yam and a trailer. They have gone up a bit.

POD is done. I’m happy with how it turned out. They put the ladder so it comes out the back instead of the side which I’m fine with.
APM says I can bring the boat in anytime now get the motors etc put on. I’ll take a day or so taking stock to make sure I know what I need.

Are you going to adjust the trailer axle position looks like it might be a bit light in the front once the motor is on.
