scotty drive belts

Thats interesting comment LastChance about having to be the orginal owner of a Scotty downrigger. I have never had that question ask when I took mine in for warrantie service work. The shops (Gone Fishing and Auburn Marine) have just fixed the problems for free, smiled and said thankyou.

The local shops do not seem to care, it was Scotty that applied the scrutiny.

The local sporting goods store was having a closeout and I bought an new older style scotty electric for a spare. If I have a problem I'll just swap out the complete downrigger. It was only $200.00 US.

that's pretty cheap, but a belts only about 15 bucks !
