Regs for area14 and area17....!!??

Only way I would allow anything that small onboard would be if it was a bleeder. And legal.

You would think with all the folks on here that work with or for the DFO in these areas that someone would speak up....

See page 24 of the 2013-2015 BC Tidal Waters Sport Fishing Guide.

Fourth line down in the table...

Areas 13 to 18 Chinook Apr 1 - Mar 31 TBD Minimum size limit is 62 cm.

As regards to the to be determined daily quota, it is presently at two as per the regulation and any change to daily limits on any other size if implemented, will be determined and implemented if warranted. The fishery notices that were on the web site with the maps attached were removed as those restrictions expire March 31st each year.

In summary the daily limit for Area 13 to 18 is two chinook with a minimum size limit of 62 cm as per the Limits and Management Measures table which starts on page 24 of the guide. In all other Areas, the minimum size limit is 45 cm as per bullet 5 in the Limits section of page 15 of the guide.

I hope this helps but please contact your local DFO office if you need further clarification.

Happy to see you you can read the book so can most of us... Hahaha But of the web regs which are still up show 45cm.. Have a look for your self. http://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fm-gp/rec/tidal-maree/a-s14-eng.html

If page 24 of the 2013-2915 guide is correct then DFO needs to get their butt in gear and correct the web regs to read 62 cm as a lot of folks (me included) use these and the web fishery notices for current/up to date info.

Hey Duffer how about when you have to release a 60cm fish cause its 2cm short. Weighing 6-8pounds. How about all them winter feeders we catch that are always an inch short. I would put one on my license and on my table if I was aloud. Your right though know one would really care about a 2lber...:)

Then change the regs to 58cm but 45cm. Someone tell me its a miss print.

Was out off Nanaimo fishing today and at least one person didn't get the memo. Two actually as there were two onboard a boat that we saw rinse off a cleaned fish that wasn't as long as his forearm.

We were close enough to speak to him and when I told him his fish was kind of small he stared blankly at me with no response.

We caught one spring around 10 lbs, 30 inches and 4 other undersize. Beautiful day on the water.
