Non retention starting April 1, except for the faint hope clause at the end:
"A subsequent Fishery Notice will be released detailing Chinook Salmon mark-selective fishery opportunities beginning April 1, 2026."

There is a separate notice #290 that provides for MSF fisheries in many areas from April 1 to May 31.
1 hatchery Chinook per day.
Thanks Scott -- I looked away and missed when it came out. The link is below. Full notice is too large to post.

Seem typical for DFO, one notice says one thing and the other says something else

That's right it goes to last years regulation until minister makes decision on this year's management plans. That isn't signed off yet and discussion still ongoing. This also let's the MSF continue while the decision is being made.

We still have three things in play that could effect everything for this season:

1. SAP allocation changes.

2. SRKW restrictions.

3. 2026/27 chinook fisheries management plan. Focus from department to protect 5 2 Fraser stocks.

Fingers crossed right now.

It would be very unfair to allow us to make plans based on this notice and then change the rules.
Imagine trying to run a guiding business or marina with this uncertainty lurking in the background.

I don't understand why the DFO doesn't include a marked up map with these proclamations. It would certainly get their message across with less confusion.
