I am using the new Lowrance - added to my Lowrance GPS/Depth sounder. Works like a charm - Good pricing at Nikka
LittleG, what did you pay at Nikka? I might be in the market for one, but would prefer not to deal with Steveston. Have not been treated well there on more than one occaision.

lastchance, have you had any glitches with the raymarine. I am shopping for a c80 or e80 because of limited space. I like the platinum for its graphics I didn't know the c80 wouldn't run it[?]

Go Raymarine...we have a brand new Lowrance in our Campion and Raymarine in the Pursuit....wayyyy better in the Pursuit..glad I get to run that one :D lol The way it overlaps on the map (GPS) is pretty freakin awesome!

Found the Furuno 1623 for $1,079 http://www.consumersmarine.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?pdesc=Furuno_1623_15_Radar_Dome&cname=LCD-Radars&r=view&i=200002&aID=31A

Platinium only works on E series. There are no glitches, I just think it's a ho-hum expensive sounder. Radar, GPS and everything else is top notch, I'm just dissapointed in how it works as a sounder, that's with the DSM 300 and a thru-hull transducer.

And here it is on. Tower thanks to Silver Streak
cheers

West Marine has the Ray Marine c70 on for 1800.00 plus a 2 hundred dollar rebate. Thats $1600.00 !!!!!! With a radome that would be a $2600.00 unit. They have a box deal screen plus radome (24nm) for this awsome price. I got the Navionics gold chip as well so I can have radar /Chart overlay. I will feed the GPS info in through my Garmin multi for even more options between the GPS/PLOTTER/SONAR/RADAR.

Guess it depends what size boat you are planning to run it on. I just picked it up for my new 24' Striper.

Steveston Hardware has not been the same in years. Too bad, they were a great store before they sold it to the new guys who don't know the meaning of "Customer Service". [xx(]

Oh well, Nikka is right across the street - great staff and great service! :D

Any Radar produced in the last 10 years will work great if they are set up properly.

100% correct. I have been into Steveston hardware three times and been ignored every time. Walked across the street and dropped $300 plus dollars on barbques, VHF radios and Depth sounders at Nikka each time, paid the same or less and was treated very well. I would highly recommend Nikka.
