Is my anchor ok for my 19' glasply?

Hi, I'm putting together an anchoring system for my boat, getting the parts as I find them. Today I bought a 10kg Bruce type anchor thinking this would be a good start. Hopefully good enough for my 19' Glasply. I have reel of 1/2 Samson braid, not sure of amount, going to unreel and measure that on Saturday ...is 1/2" too thick/heavy? Would 3/8" be better/easier to handle and what length would be best for say 300' anchoring?
As I have to deploy the anchor from the stern (either of two 76 year olds climbing over the top to the bow not feasible) I'll be rigging up the sliding ring/rope from bow to stern system so I'll be on the hunt for that stuff and a scotchman and chain pretty soon too.
Any advice appreciated
thanks guys

10kg seems heavy. I’ll check the weight of mine. If you go smaller I have a scotchman to sell in Victoria. I’ll check the size.

I've owned several 20 Ft. boats and a 7.5 kilo has worked well for all. I use 550 Ft. of 5/16" rope for halibut fishing.

Just a thought, I have a complete anchoring system that I would like to sell. I haven't used it in 3 years since we sold our boat. I'm in Surrey.
Not sure of the anchor weight but it's defiantly less then 10 KG. It has about 30' of chain, 600' of 1/2" double braided rope, anchor puller(can be replaced with a ring if you want), large scotchman, and a tote. It would work perfectly for your boat. I'd say I only used it 10 -15 times, I bought everything brand new. I have a bunch of halibut gear and rods too that I would like to sell.

Too bad you already purchased the bruce/claw anchor. I had one and wasn't particularly happy with it.

When I bought my new boat (20ft centre console) it came with a 6kg Rocna/Vulcan. Man - that thing is amazing. Sets first time, everytime - great holding power and easy to retrieve.

Locally made in Delta - great product and widely available - their website had a decent selector tool as well:
