Poll # 3 – Halibut Stamp or Not

My thoughts...

, I agree ,as well as %90 of us Sporty`s , the catch data is a joke,, as i stated earlier , i would personally sacrifice another year of a slot size for 2013 ,
ONLY , if the season would be guaranteed from March till September , better yet October , AND , most importantly , Halibut Catch Recording on all Sports Fishers Licenses , all to be returned by Dec 1st of every season , OR , no renewals the following season , PERIOD !! anything other than this is a waste of time , If the Stamp or tag can be put in place so that atleast %50 of proceeds goes towards Allocation Correction `, Lawyers , Admin , whatever ....let that happen soon !!!

i truly believe any Data that they use this year , will be laughed at once again , NOT , taken seriously

I had a poll i was gonna put out there that showed previous years numbers by area , South Isaland , North Island , North Coast , etc.. was very interesting to see the average weights and total poundage spread out through-out the coast , I decided not to , i just have ZERO faith in Speculated Counting , I figured we`d leave that outta the equation . lets get some solid data to work with , get rid of the pissing matches between us sportys , and move on..

how about a season poll? something like,, april 15 to oct 15? or??? see where we are at with this??? mar15-sept15? mar 1 -sept 30? etc....

How come the Chris Bos and the sport fish institute thinks there IS NOT a big issue with the way DFO estimates the rec catch, yet most rec anglers are up in arms about it?

I respect Chris he has a lot more knowledge then most of us. Somebody explain why he is wrong. Trust me if Chris thought the way DFO calculated the rec catch was far from accurate he would fight it. Maybe he thinks they under estimate the catch and that's why they stay quite on the topic. We need to be careful what we wish for. Mandatory reporting might actually shorten the season.

hows that gonna keep our annual tac down ??
more like March 1 to July 15 th lol , that would lower the tac , Wouldn't fly Blair..
wonder how people would feel about goin back to the 2/3 rule , when we run out , we shut er down , we would have ta submit our recorded catch by July 1st ta see where we sit..,, just ideas...

i like the 6 annual , 1/2 anysize , all recorded on licenses and submitted annually by Dec 1... ( until the Allocation gets sorted out )
full season March till October

: )...nice ta dream...

my bad? wasn't really about tac and more about where you fish and how in season out of season affects you and the area you fish and the time of year ya can fish,, so pick yer dates and explain how it affects you!!

I don't know where you get your info. That is not what I heard at the recent SFI meeting and speaking with him directly.

oops- knowing OBD as I do, that was meant as a joke. (But it didnt come across very well did it!! _) Carry on!!

I was going to write ... "OldBlackDog if I throw a stick, will you leave now?" or "That's priceless coming from you beer breath!" but I chose not to as that would be showing that I know he's only joking around:D
