Nootka Sound/Inland - newbie tips

hi all,

heading out the nootka island to camp for a few days but won't have a boat. planning on casting from the rocks for cod (??) or other guys that might be near shore.

i have no idea what to use. any tips please?

we are going to have a little dingy cause i'd like to set a few crab traps..i heard 30'' water with a fish head or tuna can???

any knowledge my wiser friends that will catch me something to throw on the fire would be great.

If you are anywhere close to the light house you can fish right out of your dinghy no problem, take a 6 0z bannana weight with a 6-8ft leader and try motor mooching with a cut plug herring or just jig for bottom fish and salmon with a point wilson dart or any type of large hook with herring attached! There is no shortage of ways to catch fish and there are plenty out there! Hope this helps!
