Handling halibut at the boat

Never had that happen I use a 30" little scotsman have had many hali take it down but not for very long have you ever tried to hold a beach ball under water when you were swimming almost imposible I run 20 ft of line from the poon head to the float and another 20 that I tie off to the boat it all fits great in a 10 kg marg bucket so all I have to do is bring it in then deal with the hali by then it is pretty well spent trying to fight that ball then the rest is history.

I know a guy who claimed to have a Halibut take a buoy down and never come back up.
This was WCQCI so maybe it's tue-that's where the monsters live.

Hi folks I would like to comment About safety on this. This fish needs to be killed quickly, wolf is correct,Go ahead and try landing one alive just a small 50#er.He'll break youre poles and anything else in the way and they wont fit into the box alive lol.
