I am totally new to hali fishing and wonder what kind of gaff to use? Will a 30 inch gaff work for most halibut, or is that too small?

I have used the flying gaff for years and have only lost butts when the line has been frayed or really old(my fault)Just remember to hook the loop on the cleat before setting the hookquote:Originally posted by dance a jig

Do these units work with bigger fish, or only as demonstrated by the fishing tackle store employee?
