Gardening pics, hacks, successes, and or failures

So annoying to grow your own **** sometimes all my pepper seedlings are in the process of dying
I had three trays in a row die in the mech room with lights. I gave up on the seeding soil and I'm now trying a blend and just going by the window.

everything has turned out so far this year really good all the cold crops i started inside , the onions, cabbage, cauliflower, ect

but these peppers are now dying, i think from that wilting

That looks almost like damping off.
Are you using bottom heat?

I think you are right it is damping off when i potted them up i used a old bag of soil, same thing i did with the small test batch of peppers that did good, so i thought i was good to go guess not

Garlic and salad greens are doing well, even had some asparagus.
Gooseberries, peppers and tomatoes are looking good but waiting for warmer weather. Soon I hope.

Go time for a lot stuff today. Sore hamstrings.
40 tomatoes, some peppers and eggplants in the PrAuto "greenhouse" Corn and bush beans from starts, sweet potato slips into a big pot and some grow bags.
More peppers, eggplants, melons, leeks, celery, and squashes can wait till Saturday or later.
Fly fishing tomorrow.
Brassicas, lettuce, radishes, fava beans, peas, radicchio, carrots, beets, parsnips, spinach, garlic, arugula, rhubarb, potatoes, and herbs planted earlier or last year are starting to take flight.
Wish I could grow brisket and spot prawns.IMG_20240509_161113838_HDR.jpg

Windows both rolled up it was 40* C in there today. We got a solar thermometer that gives the high and low for the day, and current temp, which helps.

When do we typically harvest garlic ? I read you want to see the scapes do a circle then it’s time or if some of the lower leaves start to die . When do you start to see the scapes grow ?No idea what I’m doing do hoping to hear some advice from the masters

You wait for the scapes to make a full circle and then cut them off.( around June) They are quite tasty and can be used like green onions. They also keep very well in the vegetable crisper in your fridge, and will last for a couple of weeks. Do not pull your garlic yet the bulbs still need to develop. If you are watering your garlic, stop when you harvest the scapes. As for when to harvest your garlic bulbs, I usually wait until the bottom three leaves die off (mid July depends on the year) You want to wait as long as you can so the the bulb fully develops, but before it starts to open. You can test this by exposing the tops of a few bulbs and checking how tight the cloves are to the stem, when they start to pull away, you know it's time. I hope this makes sense.
