When the customer steps on the boat & after the safety ordination... I ask the guest..do u want to learn how to fish or do u want to just relax and I do the work...95 percent want to learn...so off to the races we go and I become a working boat.....at the end of the day the boys & gals have now become better at the sport and if the they do have there rig under stand the rules of the road... I don't mind sharing info and have a fairly good network..but that network is a 2 way street.... there is a certain satisfaction those days where the guest walk away having learned something..even knock the odd one fish off the net..
I was at Sculpin shop today getting a little touch up on the boat..Saw this..thought it would be fitting....
So they are learning all your bad habits, and they pay for this service
speaking of halibut hotspots...did Jackel spill thy beansonly the habits u taught me...
I know I laugh every time I see that...I was at Sculpin shop today getting a little touch up on the boat..Saw this..thought it would be fitting....
It doesn't matter, where, what or how...there is so much more to it. The funnest part about fishing is trolling in the pack and killin' it - everyone is watching and everyone else is using all the same stuff. What's the difference?
Come on guys - who cares...The best example of an unbelievable, caring, sharing individual, who wishes nothing but success for the next angler whether out in his own boat or someone elses for the day is a local Nanaimo angler - "Hot Rods" aka: Clyde Wicks. If you don't learn how to network, don't expect to catch fish or gain real intel. Where you gain is in what you give, not what you take.
You get what you give...simple.
Kind regards
Robert.
LOL - Point in case^^^...anyone can write something on the internet and it is interpreted 100 ways to Sunday.
Specific spots don't matter to me, generalization does. I learned by the age of 16, what to look for on a chart - what will quite possibly offer up some bounty.
God Bless,
R.
General info is great..dont think there isn't anything out there that hasn't been said in regards to "how to's"..there are many specific "where to's" still to be had...depending on what your after and when, this could and does change on any given tide..
I find it very rewarding taking a chart to a new area and doing exactly what you said..looking it over and planning..although new areas to me are getting smaller and smaller over here on the island
Lets all go out there and find some "specific" spots of our own and you will get way more gratification in doing so..
Most of my best days now are finding the fish AWAY from the pack..so much more relaxing
