One of my Cousins is at top Argyle and 12th and are doing the same. Stay safe, Matt hope things don't get worse for you, the misses' and the dogs.No Chit.
Wind is picking up -sending the smoke right into town with the fire on it's heels.
I am putting scramble kits together and packing up the guns...
Dam. Nothing worse than that hot dry wind. Been almost 30 years since I fought fire, but the spidey sense tingles in my brain, like it did years ago when I learned about firefighters trying to escape out of control forest fires. This will kill everything when the fire behaviour gets like that and the winds blow. That inlet has to be one of the windiest places on the coast. Especially in the afternoon.
Getting any rain there yet Matt?
Thus far we have had light drizzle resulting in 10 mm's of rain in the last 24 hours.
Suspected to see another 20 mm's in the next 24 hours.
Fingers crossed we get even more!
The cooler air has to help some, as does the wind backing down.
Unfortunately that shifted a bit, and it has become extremely smokey outside..
Pacing...
Well good luck. I thought you were still in Ukee. Guess you moved there?
Getting any rain overnight/ today?Only used to "live" in Ukee when I was guiding out of there.
Port Alberni has always been home since we moved to BC.
Cheers
