Commander 26 Re Build

Not yet it’s coming

Should have notched those before you layed them down. Bust out the carbide bits. Might get away with a hole saw. Big drains are better. Small ones get clogged with **** over time

Follow up to a few pics posted earlier. Ron got the floor set up while I was gone fishing. The plan is to get all the pieces ready first. The floor by the stern is going to be the last thing that goes on, to ensure the entire transom is available for the pod mounting hardware. We also will be drilling the stringers and glassing in a pvc pipe on both sides for water to drain into the bilge. Also working on the deck with 40 grit…
But June was my deadline for a reason boys, First my winter harbour trip, but most importantly I’m getting married with my wife of 10 years in July! So today I spent the evening making seating arrangements and spent my afternoon finalizing catering. As you can seee this might take a bit away from my time to build my boat.
Happy wife happy life… on a boat.
I couldn’t be more happier, she is my number one fishing partner and is always ready to go fishing!!! Without her support this build ain’t happening.

Can’t wait to drag the Commander to Winter Harbour…. I’m still trying to figure out how to get back there this month for a quickie LoL

My wife and I honeymooned at the Blackrock in Ukee. It was awesome. Got some fishing in, lots of alone time walking on the beach. It was great. We’re actually out here right now celebrating our 10year anniversary today! Damn monsoon out there right now

Spend a few hours going hard on the deck anti slip today, evening out any high spots at the same time. She is looking cleaner everyday,834306AE-7115-4898-B25F-8E80C0F7A65A.jpeg08BE21EC-0DBC-41E4-9683-0198BE672F92.jpeg81B2BEA8-47BA-4F1C-B87C-4132DF5DC04E.jpegD164BAD7-A4E3-42E4-850C-6AC142C4050A.jpegD5D08BC1-6FB1-470A-81AB-44FADFC335F1.jpeg7E057EE9-91B8-431F-A964-599057C3BE25.jpegB0EC25AA-E20E-46EF-9389-D8F29F3869F8.jpegA1495ED3-9757-4D74-916A-B70EB26D4E86.jpegC0AA47C2-F18A-49F0-9CAF-B6187651C7BD.jpeg

So I been walking by the commander all week…
And I got to say she is looking amazing every day. I been holding back the last few months on flooding this thread with posts of how great this boat looks :) But really, I been rubbing her down every time I walk by her and can’t wait to put some quality time into her after this break. Lots of planning ahead, and in the meantime will be preparing the exterior for some gel coat. Got a bit of the fly bridge non skid off. These are some of my favourite pics of the boat right now, she is cleaning up reel nice and looks gorgeous with the top off.96910AC4-E2C5-48E2-A1FD-694F5DCF0174.jpegBF8C7C34-A92B-40FF-A0B1-F26EA4690630.jpeg457D6C05-A91C-4A69-8A04-DE5392DBF14B.jpeg68E56767-8169-43A9-B364-B17104DE89C3.jpeg9FAD9DE6-5B8E-4D8C-93D2-57B3F52572C3.jpeg

Today came the day I been waiting for a while now. I finally got to cut out a big hole in a boat hull. Placed the transducer into place and made sure everything fits properly. The hole has been cut on overlapping glass from the stringers and bulkhead. Will see how even it is after the rest of the bulkheads are tabbed in and adjust accordingly. And of course working a bit on the exterior preparing for gel coat and cutting up the rest of the bulkheads for the rear.DCC9A182-D103-46DC-98B7-2E314691D6B4.jpeg0A53B3F3-F227-44A3-BAFA-7AE9FD826E8A.jpegF9AEE68A-FF6D-4EDF-ABAD-DC6E141ADB89.jpegAE204D59-187B-47FF-B6EE-83EF0512EBD4.jpeg1D8C8774-561F-450A-BDED-44678E8DCE89.jpeg9C406707-C4FF-4D8A-B550-752AF9C669C3.jpegAFBA49A8-2688-478B-936C-A71857FE02A7.jpegA7E09CA3-3CF4-429A-8B09-625FA4353E5B.jpeg

So it seems we are on a steady pace lately with lots of planning and a bit of work getting done. The hole I cut yesterday for the transducer was exciting, todays were disgusting, kind of painful, and sour. But managed to glass it quickly.
The plan is to put a 1” pipe through the stringers to the bilge. I brought it forward a few inches from the transom but will build it up a bit to prevent any standing water. We are installing little bulkhead’s separating the last 8 inches to the transom. I want that area open for access to the pod hardware.
