He lives in my building, Aquilini still owns a few that did not sell that he kept as rentals. When Brock's dad passed away, he was visibly busted up, I bought him something and put it at his door. (lost my dad at a young age) I used to see him and Petey around but not as much anymore.

I know everyone loves Horvat but I think it's a good time to move him while his value is high. I've never thought he was a great leader and he's just not gritty enough. It's great that he's got 30+ goals this year but I think he's lucky to have that. His shooting % is some crazy number like 30% while his career is 15%. It is inevitable that % comes down and his scoring slows. It's started to happen already. If he doesn't want $8 million a year then let someone else have him. That being said we don't want to lose him for nothing.

I wouldn't be surprised if they go on a 8 game winning streak and end up thinking they are going to make playoffs, and they don't trade Bo, and they don't make playoffs. Just let him walk for nothing like Markstrom, Toffoli, Tanev, etc..

I will say it was appalling how they dealt with Bruce. I liked him and laughed at his presser comments a lot like when he was voted one of the sexiest NHL coaches.

Whether they get nothing for Bo or trade him for less than he is worth, I don't blame him for being pissed. I hope he does a Toffoli on his first game against the Canucks and scores a Hat Trick. I like Horvat; He is on his way to scoring 40 goals, is one of the best faceoff guys in the NHL, is robust as hell and is almost never off with injuries, good leadership skills, has size and is strong on his skates and once planted in front of the goal for tip ins, they can't move him, while he does not do it often, he is a good fighter and really steps up his game the few times the Canucks made the playoffs. Whatever team gets him will be a much improved team.
The new, management team screwed cap management for the next 7 years with that 8 million a year contract with Miller. With that they can't afford Horvat and will be lucky if they can afford Petey when his free agent contract comes up, assuming he does not want to get away from the Aquilini gong show. The way they continue to mismanage cap, that even if they got the first over all draft pick, one wonders if they be able to afford to keep Bedard past his rookie contract.
As for Miller I doubt he will ever repeat his best somewhat fluky scoring performance from last year. Likely he will score less with each passing year, while the weakness in the other parts of his game will not improve. He is not the leader Horvat is, what with the tantrums and yelling at his own golie etc. Apparently he yelled at the Goalie on a previous team and was traded the next day. There is a reason other teams let him go and it was not his lack of scoring. In a few years, with that contract, what other team will take him. It will cost a fortune to get rid of him.

Definitely a possibility but with management not gaining cap relief on Beauvillier‘s contract I wouldn’t put it past these goofs to trade the newly required Islander 1st. to dispose of OEL or BB6’s contract. Right now there’s too many high paid forwards and other than Scheen in my opinion there are no true tradable assets so it’s business as usual with more pain to come. Buyout or minor trade for Garland is a distinct possibility though.
