Canucks 2021 Season

Let's face it Greiss stole the show and with 3 games in 4 nights to start the season it's a tall order.
No bounces and probably deserved better. Garland is a beaut. Number 1 PP needs a lot of work, too static and predictable. EP40 taking on 1 in 4 has to stop as well.
On to the Buffalo, Chicago and Seattle.

Boeser is back tonight finally, I'd assume he had a groin injury but that's just a guess.
Would like to hear John Garrett back tonight on the colour commentary. I'm not sure if it's just me but does anyone else find Corey Hirsch aggravating

Hirsch has been absolutely painful to listen to.....

Boeser is still a game time decision. Hope he doesn't rush it. He's in a contract year though so I'm sure he's anxious to put up some decent numbers.

Man what an ugly game! Everyone from the country club except Demko did a no-show. Passive PK, passive PP, inept defence zone coverage and a total lack of combativeness is also on the coaches. Hunt was an awful -3 and Hunt over OJ is looking like a JB blunder. Last season all over again. Coaches I will give them 20 games which maybe already too late by then. So onto Chicago.

I believe if the canucks continue down this path Benning will get the sack early this season , they just re-upped Green , so he will most likely stay , i figured the canucks would either be challenging edmonton for 2nd in the division or near or at the bottom , the 1st 2 games they looked fast - i thought maybe they can can compete , but the last 2 ugh , same old bad defense and lack of depth , gotta give them 20 games i guess ...

I’m not sure why you think Vegas is a lock for 1st. I certainly don’t.

Well the Canucks were just a little bit better than the 0-4 Hawks but overall an improvement over that Buffalo debacle.
The Loto line struggled again with their defensive zone coverage as EP40 for the time being is not the player we have come to expect.
Hirsch is a bit awkward and needs to tone down his commentary but he did point out clearly that the Canucks defensive system of first pass outside in rather than inside out along the boards is allowing teams to aggressively forecheck. Onto Seattle which I expect to be fired up for the season opener. Wonder if the Canucks lay another egg on this one.

Ya , i agree but i still think they'll finish at or near the top , but other than Edmonton and Vegas it could be almost anyone , Pacific div is wide open , the Sharks are undefeated ...

I think Pettersson is showing rust ha i g not played in approx 8 months. when he gets his timing and feet back under him the lotto line will be fine.

i’m loving what i’m seeing from Garland. he brings a whole new element to that second line, and again, when they figure each other out a bit i think it’s going to be something else.

I know that this is a Canucks thread but I thought I would share this. I just got a text from my brother in law. We are both Habs fans. He said that the Habs have acquired a new goalie. He’s out of China. His name is Win-Won-Sune.

I think Chicago was vying for him as well.

Agreed. It’s wide open after Edmonton and Vegas. As an Oiler season ticket holder, I hope the Canucks can find a way to squeeze into 3rd because screw Calgary

Start the car, thank you Demko, Garland and Bo. Ekman-Larsson was a stud +2, 5 shots on goal. Leads the league for shots on goal by a defence man. Great trade so far. Canucks gave the Kraken the redline with speed and paid for it all night. Rathbone and Burroughs both struggled on coverage but unfortunately Hunt and Schenn aren't the answer. As for EP40 for the time being he's lost out there.
How come the Leafs got flattened?
