Why have I heard about two over 40 and one over 30 this weekend and nobody is talking:( I understand that fishing is really good in CR right now..

Whats going on??

Anyone...

Haven't heard of any really large fish being taken lately. A lot of pinks and feed in the water around the green can at the south end of Quadra. Sonar shows a lot of fish and my rods were vibrating with small strikes. Water is really cloudy in that area.

Headed up to Thurston Bay for a couple of hours and had a big fish snap the gear off my line. Took a large amount of line off before it ripped it off. Was fun for the minute I got to play it :D water is clear in that area but the fish were showing up really deep on sonar. Browns bay has had some good reports over the past few days as well. Hope I have better luck next weekend.

THE LAST WEEK HAS BEEN GOOD AT THE GREENCAN BUT IT SEENS TO BE SLOWING DOWN FOR FISH. LOTS OF BAIT AND DOGFISH THERE.A FEW FISH STARTING TO SHOWUP NORTH. TIGHTLINES SNOWWHITE

Snowwhite - lots of dogfish ;) more like THOUSANDS of dogfish.
My lines have been bouncing from all the line hits, they look like bites but they aren't. Not to mention several buddies have lost all their line flashers and the works from doggies biting the mainline. One feller was fishing along and then all of a sudden PLOP there goes the downrigger braid, canon ball and the flasher and the line and everything. Stupid doggies.

So when are the doggies done with their spawn or whatever it is they are doing? Was out today and they were a real pain! And no, I wasn't trolling too slow. There are just so thick.

Fished Fransisco pt today all day - real slow, lots of dogfish, one undersized, going north tomorrow. Saw a some at the dock from greensea. And there is a sockey opening[:p]

I took a couple of springs at the green can tonight. As mentioned there are tons of Dogfish in the area. Heading North on Sunday if the weather cooperates.

Green can has still been pretty solid. Hit a 22 and an 18 this morning, then got a beauty 32 tonight. 170 feet on a Jack Smith. The new Green Can Killer has also been good.

Don't forget we are only aloud to kill 15 Chinooks in area 13 per person per year. Daily limits are two Chinooks a person per day. I basically kill what I can eat than the rest swim free.
Glad to hear you are having fun and nice fish red.

At Greensea Friday, pretty quiet due to a commercial opening. Seiners working the area. saw a lot of pinks caught, maybe a couple of sockeye. I was targetting springs came back empty handed again. Going back now! no commercial today.

Thanks for the thoughtful reminder Haze. I was guiding 2 different groups yesterday so limits were definately not filled.

No worries Red, I've seen a few "individuals" out who've been going out every day and somtimes bonking fish morning and then again in the evening, often all by themselves. Figured some folks might just be ignorant so I just threw that out there.
Glad to hear your charters are going well. The fishing through the narrows has been a little slower than the last few days due to the big boys netting everything but there is still fish being caught in out of the way spots.
The sockeye fishing was slow for most of the sporty folks today, figure we'll give it a day or two to pick up and hopefully we'll get better numbers and some more bitey fishes.

up at geensea all day yesterday, no fish of any type came into anyone's boat. Went to Thurston later and same thing. All radio reports showed a fishless day. Talked to only one guy that had a fish(Spring). On the way back to CR there was an army of trollers on the way up.

Could somebody tell me where "Greensea" is? North of CR somewhere? I've checked my charts and can't find any mention. Tx.

Any reports? I've got a couple of buddies from outa town and am desperatly trying to tie them into a decent spring. I gave them a meager prawn feed tonight at least.
