If it’s structurally sound then some elbow grease could clean it up. If it’s not… I’ve seen a lot of crazy involved restorations from this forum! What’s your definition of “roached?” Hard to say exactly what’s going on (except that it’s dirty) from photos alone.
The motor alone might fetch $6000usd on the used market.
I doubt this will last long. 17' Arima Sea Pacer w/ 2022 Honda 90 with 50 hours. This is something I'd definitely look at if I was still in the market.
Motor and all new electrical in fall 2022 (just over 50 hours). Hull is solid but cosmetically rough. Got it ready to be a kick-butt island hopper (those racks are for SUPs, so you can anchor/pick up...

I own an Arima and am active on the AO forum. The owner posted this one there with an explanation that the hull looks rougher than it is, and I have no reason to doubt that. Main things to watch for on an Arima are separated stringers and poor sealing under the transom cap. The stringers thing seems to be found more on the larger vessels in a particular time frame that the community is still collecting data on. I boroscoped mine and they are solid.
The main thing I'd worry about on this one is if the open bow hull is appropriate for the WCVI. But as far as the hull goes, sure there could be issues and take a close look but less likely to be major structural issues than some other brands.
Agreed. My previous comment wasn't intended to imply this particular boat is some hidden gem... just to highlight what the specific things to watch for on an Arima

Good info on Arima innards and background on this specific boat!
As always, any prospective buyer should do their due diligence unless they are prepared to do a full restoration or otherwise deal with gremlins.
It’s up to the end user to determine suitability for their intended uses. I doubt anyone looking at a 17’ open boat like this expects to chase tuna in it but it’s fine for puttering around in protected waters. I wouldn’t want to chase SRC in a 32’ Kingfisher.
But what do I know? I’m certainly not an expert and I shouldn’t even be looking at boats for at least another year!
